TRAVIS WHITE

 サザンクロス大学卒業　現代音楽専攻　専門ギター

７才の頃からギターを習い始め,　１４才からBeatles, Rolling Stones, Thin Lizzy, Queen, Poison, Bon Jovi, Extreme, Eagles等のカバーバンドのギターリストとしてライブ活動に専念する。１3才の時、 西オーストラリアに在住の頃、西オーストラリア・クラッシックギター学校でギターを専攻する。

1995年、オーストラリアのクイーンズランド芸術大学音楽学部のディプロマ修得。その後、サザンクロス大学（現代音楽専攻　専門ギター）にて、Jazz, Blues, Fusion, Funk, Rockを専攻し、２００３年卒業。エレクトリックギター・アコースティックギターを駆使し、あらゆるジャンルのギターを奏でる。

２００４年来日。

TRAVIS WHITE JAZZ TRIO（トラビス・ホワイト・ジャズトリオ）を結成し多方面でライブ活動。KING RECORDSの恩地美佳（三味線奏者）とのコラボレーションをはじめ、Mike Stern(元Miles Davisのギターリスト)とのギターセミナー。そして、Scott Henderson(元Miles Davisのギターリスト)等とのギターセミナーも開催。

現在、東京・横浜を中心に、TRAVIS WHITE JAZZ TRIOのライブ活動や、FUSIONバンドでのライブ活動を展開している。また一方で、専門学校での講師も勤めている。

２００８年１月、待望のロックバンド"ROY WILDERS"を始動させ、スイスのチューリッヒにレコーディング。(BMG/SONYの元CEOとA&Rチームの協力もあり)

CD完成後は、全ヨーロッパをはじめ日本、そして世界に発信していく予定である。

この4人のメンバーで構成された多国籍バンド。

2009年4月より洗足学園音楽大学のロック＆ポップスコース講師就任。

Travis was born in Newcastle, Australia 1977. From as early as he can remember he was hooked on the Beatles, Rolling Stones, Neil Young and Cat Stevens. His influences include loads of artists such as Ken Hirai, Bz, Chie Ayato, Kazumi Watanabe, Jim Hall, Joe Pass, Wes Montgomery, B.B.King, Jimi Hendrix, SRV, Jeff Beck, Joe Satriani, Mike Stern and Steve Vai etc. 

At the age of 7 he first picked up and strummed those love to hate strings. He began playing seriously from the age of 14 and was out doing the LIVE scene of Australia 2 years later.

He has had classical guitar training before entering university where he met his now life long friend, mentor and guitar teacher, Jim Kelly of the famous fusion band Crossfire. Australia’s first call session guitarist in Sydney. Jim Kelly has played for and with Mike Stern, Joe Pass, Michael Franks, Lisa Hunt etc.

Travis has studied Jazz, Fusion, Rock, Funk, Blues and World Music’s including Brazilian guitar, Vocals, Studio Engineering, Music Business, Composing etc, at Southern Cross University which is mirrored off the Berklee School of Music Degree program. He has done various studio work for different projects including his own solo projects. 
 

He has worked with a Shyamisen player from King Records (Japan Major Label), LIVE TV performances, Charity events, TV & Radio appearances.

Travis has had the pleasure to do guitar seminars with Mike Stern, Chris Minh Doky, and Scott Henderson from Miles Davis’s band. As of recent, Travis has recorded a soon to be released ROCK ALBUM in Zurich, Switzerland with his brother in crime Roy Wilders. 

In between all this he has been teaching in various formats such as Guitar schools, Guitar studios, High Schools, Universities and Privately. By the way, if that is not enough, he is fluent in Japanese!!
